Let’s chat…
So Let's talk about how to dress for your photoshoot, shall we? First things first, you should always wear what YOU feel best in! However, if you're looking for a photographer's opinion on what will photograph well, keep reading.
My personal favorite garments to photograph are flowy dresses with lots of extra material. These allow for some beautiful dress throw shots, twirls, and all kinds of other creative ways to manipulate the fabric and create dynamic images.
A general rule of thumb- big, busy patterns can serve as a distraction and take attention away from the face.. though I'm sure a lot of you knew that already.
As far as color choices, neutrals are always in style and create the most timeless images, while you generally want to steer clear of bright neons. Neon shades can reflect the light back onto your skin, causing whatever shade you're wearing to be visible on your face and the rest of your body as well.
An all-white ensemble is another favorite of mine- ethereal, timeless, photographs beautifully and pairs perfectly hand-in-hand with our editing style.
Complementary colors (shades opposite each other on the color wheel) give a high contrast and impactful look, resulting in an eye-catching visual punch.
Hopefully this guide is somewhat helpful, but if you're still confused, have no fear; every session of ours comes with complimentary wardrobe assistance. You'll be able to chat directly with your photographer and choose the best outfits to ensure your photos look exactly how you envisioned. Can’t wait to see you (and your cute clothes) in front of our lens!
